I am so pleased to announce that the studio reopens again 8 September, providing all of my students are happy to return. Due to social distancing, I will now be limited to just 6 spaces in the studio. I am adding additional classes to my timetable to ensure I can provide enough classes for my students.   I will continue to offer live virtual online classes and those that are in the studio will also be live streamed but to assure you that no students will be in the recording of these classes, the camera will be solely on me as the teacher. I will also be adding my new online 'Women's Wellness' Yoga Programme, this programme is aimed at women going through all stages of the menopause and those approaching (peri) menopause.  The monthly deep relaxation sessions continue online as this is what the majority of my students prefer at this time.  The Saturday morning mini retreats will return on a monthly basis and will include a retreat on 'Yoga for Menopause'.  See details below for classes and events.  If you are interested in any of my offerings please sign up to my monthly newsletter or contact me directly.  Please note that all of the studio classes will now be block bookings only and must be prebooked and prepaid for 2 weeks before the block commences.  I am also accepting private appointments, groups and retreats in the studio.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each one of you who have attended my online offerings, I congratulate you for continuing to support your own health and wellbeing through this transitional time and to thank you for supporting me and my business. As many of you know teaching yoga is a labour of love and passion and being self employed despite it's benefits is hard work, at such a time it would have been easy to give up the studio (as many teachers have done) but I truly love my 'jobs' as a 'Yoga Teacher'and 'Life Coach' and I want to continue to grow my business and I am determined to weather the storm.  So, I am truly incredibly grateful and blessed for your support during this unprecedented time.  Stay safe and well and I look forward to seeing my wonderful Bhuti yoga community again very soon.

A number of yoga props are used to enable the postures to be very supportive and comfortable allowing you to truly let go and deepen the postures.  The class includes, postures, guided pranayama practice, meditation and relaxation. Please note you will now need to bring along your own mat and props.

Places are limited to 6 due to social distancing students.  This is a slow vinyasa flow class which focuses on yoga asanas (postures), pranayama pranayama (breathing practices), and helps to bring balance to the body and overall health and wellbeing. This class will help you to increase your flexibility and strength improve your balance and posture. Meditation, guided imagery and relaxation will be incorporated to support deep relaxation and help you feel deeply relaxed. Basic, intermediate and more advanced variations of the asanas will be provided with a focus on proper breathing and safe alignment. Whether a novice or seasoned yogi/yogini you will leave this class feeling the inherent balance, both recharged and relaxed. All of my classes focus on safety and alignment and I provide modifications ensuring you, the student are safe and feel included. As with all of my classes we work with different themes and the seasons. Please note you will now need to bring along your own mat and props.

Description

End your week and begin your weekend by letting go of whatever it is that may be holding you back with a reflective gentle pranayama and restorative and yin yoga practice followed by yoga nidra  (yogic sleep, a deep conscious relaxation). You will be lead through the practice. You do not have to have practiced yoga previously to benefit from this class. You will learn to relax your mind and body, improve your breathing and be guided through a yoga nidra to help you feel restored and enhance your sleep.

The studio is fully equipped but as the class is via live stream you can practice from the comfort of your own home, you will need to have a few props and if you do not have them you can improvise, e.g one or two blankets and 2 bed pillows, 2 yoga bricks or large books, yoga strap or exercise band. eye pillows (optional).  Be prepared for a good night's sleep following the deep relaxation. Many people forget or don't know how to relax their nervous system, relaxing in a conscious way is very different from sleeping, watching TV, reading a book. Many people spend their lives rushing around and their bodies are in a state of 'fight or flight' mode much of the time, which can elevate the stress hormone 'cortisol'. In this session we aim to reduce high levels of cortisol and let the Parasympathetic Nervous system to do it's job of maintaining 'Homeostasis' and relaxing your body/nervous system.

Description

This class is a very nurturing practice and focuses on restorative and yin postures where you will stay in passive poses for approx 3-5 minutes to allow for deep gradual release of the connective tissue.

 

A slow, meditative, evening yoga class, that gently stretches the deeper muscles, joints and fascia in your body and helps to quieten the mind and allows you to find headspace.

In Eastern traditions, Yin is a compliment to Yang. Yin yoga compliments a more dynamic yoga practice because it can add new qualities to your practice. Softening, letting go, backing off and allowing the breath to still the mind are all gifts of a yin practice.

Time, as duration, is an important aspect of the practice, allowing your body release to gravity and be carried through by the slowing breath.

By switching on the parasympathetic nervous system, this practice helps reverse the effects of stress and cultivates a sense of equanimity and relaxation.

The class will take you through a series of poses that are held for a substantial period of time (3‚Äď5 mins). All poses have modifications, so this class is suited to all levels and ages.

Postures are supported using various props e.g. bolsters, blocks, straps, ball. This gives time and space for reflection, contemplation and cultivates receptivity while being deeply calming and rejuvenating.

We will use breath practices (pranayama) to soothe our nervous systems and channel our energy where it is needed. With lots of lying poses held for longer periods of time which will encourage you to melt and release any tension you may be holding onto. This is a deeply nourishing, revitalising and restful practice.

During the practice we will focus on releasing muscular tension.¬† This class is suitable for those who may have injuries or health conditions and those who prefer a slower paced practice. But also good for those who are always rushing around and lead busy lives ‚Äď this class will make you slow down (for a little while). The class includes breathing practices, meditation and relaxation and the postures themselves are very relaxing. You do not have to have practiced yoga previously to benefit from this class. You will learn to relax your mind and body, improve your breathing and be guided through a deep and restorative relaxation.

Yoga Weekend Mini Retreats

Finally.....we can return to luxuriate in a morning of seasonal yoga practice. Unfortunately we won't be able to have our usual yoga brunch but you will be be able to enjoy a long 3 hour practice of yoga, pranayama, meditation and relaxation. Only 6 places available. YOga for Helping You With Your menopause 

This workshop will be delivered in the studio with just 6 places and also delivered online and live streamed and is an introduction to helping you manage your menopausal symptoms and is aimed at those approaching menopause e.g. peri menopause to those going through menopause and beyond.  Part of the workshop will focus on a women's circle, and also on the pelvic floor.  I will teach you yoga practices for addressing hypertonic (too tight) and hypotonic (too loose) pelvic muscles so you can continue to practice at home. You will need to be able to work from the floor some of the time so please ensure you are able to do this.

This is also a 'taster' session for the 8 week 'Women's Wellness' Programme - Yoga for Menopause launching soon.  You will also need a few yoga props - these will be listed in your booking form. This is a women only event.
